SHIRODHARA

Shirodhara is a deeply rejuvenating Ayurvedic therapy that involves the gentle, continuous pouring of warm medicated herbal oils or decoctions onto the forehead from a specific height. The name comes from "Shiro" meaning head and "Dhara" meaning flow. This rhythmic flow across the forehead, particularly over the 'third eye' region, allows the oils to seep into the scalp and hair, calming the mind and soothing the nervous system. The therapy typically lasts for a set duration and is performed in a tranquil environment, enhancing its meditative and healing effects.

More than just a relaxing treatment, Shirodhara plays a vital role in balancing the body’s doshas—especially vata and pitta—and supporting overall neurological health. It is highly effective in relieving stress, anxiety, headaches, insomnia, and emotional tension. The therapy also improves mental clarity, promotes better sleep, and leaves one with a deep sense of calm and nourishment. Often described as a divine experience, Shirodhara is a powerful wellness ritual that nurtures both the body and the mind, making it an essential component of Ayurvedic rejuvenation therapies.
