PODI KIZHI
Podi Kizhi, sometimes referred to as Choorna Swedam, is an effective ayurvedic technique for generating perspiration in which medicinal or herbal powders are knotted in boluses and applied to the entire body, or only to certain troubled areas. Medicinal plant roots and bark are ground into a powder and wrapped in a sterile piece of fabric to make a bolus. Each drug or plant is chosen based on the condition being treated. The important thing is to keep the bolus warm throughout the process. Podi Kizhi is useful for treating vitiated kaphas and minimising discomfort, stiffness, pain, or inflammation in various body areas.
